Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problems concerning an unauthorized completion of an incomplete instrument - bill of exchange and promissory note. If such an instrument is completed without authority ar not in accordance with the authority, the court might al­low a personal defense only. The issuer bears the risk that a holder will complete the bill of exchan­ge or promissory note in an unauthorized manner. From the issuers perspective the author presents the necessary measures preventing a defective completi­on of the incomplete instrument.
