Summary/Abstract: Press, Democracy, Opinion. The paper deals with the problems of mass-media and press in particular as “power” or “counter-power” and focuses on the role played by intellectuals in forming opinions. Describing the functioning of free press and that of electronic press the author underlines the pertinence of journalism as vehicle of opinion in the generalized world of excessive information.
