LEADERSHIP-UL TRANSFORMAȚIONAL ȘI NEVOIA DE SCHIMBARE ÎN EDUCAȚIE
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND THE NEED FOR CHANGE IN EDUCATION

Summary/Abstract: Transformational leadership represents an actual topic for the Romanian education system, even though it is not widely adopted and it still remains a theoretical concept. This leadership form is based on teamwork and positive approach that leaders can adopt to obtain better results. In the educational domain, leadership can be identified with the leader’s vision and with his values that are relevant for the unit. Although this concept is found in some cases in the mission and vision of the school units, the discrepancy between the stated vision of the leader and the implementation of strategies in reality can be noticed.
