Summary/Abstract: The article represents an analysis of Yugoslavia’s diplomatic relations with the Middle East in 1955-1970. The text is an introduction to in-depth research on the subject. It is extremely important for Yugoslavia’s foreign policy because it was at this time that this country’s diplomacy began to play an important role on the international stage. The text is based on documents available from the US Department of State, Wilson Center Digital Archive. In addition, we took advantage of available international scientific periodicals, literature in English, Serbian, and Polish, incl. papers by Alvin Rubinstein, Dragan Bogetić, Jože Pirjevec, Pero Simić, and Michał Zacharias.
