Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is shaped around the identification of the idiosyncratic features of Alexandru A. Philippide’s poetry in the aesthetic of the ugly. The aspects to be further discussed shall be pointed out with samples from lyrics of poems such as: ʺPastoralăʺ, ʺCel din urmă omʺ, ʺDesen murdarʺ, ʺVisul răuʺ or ʺTainicul Țelʺ.
