Summary/Abstract: Dorift Şuteu was one of the important personalities of Orthodoxy in Mures County. He was originally from Casva and studied theology at the Andreian Seminary in Sibiu and pedagogical sciences at the Pedagogical Institute in Arad. In the pre-war period he carried out a rich activity in support of the Romanian national movement in Transylvania and was a parish priest in Moşuni and Murgeşti. Dorift Şuteu was chosen to participate at the union of Transylvania with Romania on December 1, 1918, thus having the opportunity to contribute to the most important moment in the history of the Romanians. During the interwar period, he worked mainly as a religion teacher at schools in Târgu-Mureş, contributing to the organization of the local education system on Romanian bases. Another characteristic of his activity was the involvement in the hectic political life of interwar Romania. Culturally, he was a member of the ASTRA association. As a priest, he participated in numerous public events and had good relations with the higher church hierarchy.
