Metropolitan Bartolomeu: the intellectual in the Church

Summary/Abstract: There are people who unite people: they are the leaders. There are people who unite worlds and epochs: it is the gift of the great spirits. There are people who unite our world and our period of time with the eternity of God. Through poetry, through theater, through memorialism, Valeriu Anania, the man of letters par excellence, built a cultural edifice. In addition to the gift of writing, Bartolomeu Anania was animated by the ability to admire. In a world of petty envies, this great man cherished those who were, as writers at least, greater than he. But the greatest grace of Father Anania was not manifested in the profane writings, but in the service of the Holy Scriptures. Through all this, through service and word, through his word put in the service of the Word-Logos, Metropolitan Bartolomeu guided us for a while on the Path of the Kingdom of God. He was the rele model of the happy encounter between the intellectual and the servant of the Lord, between the man of letters and the man of the Church.
