Summary/Abstract: The Christian mission and confession of faith in the VIIth century: Saint Maximusthe Confessor and the religious policy of emperors in the Heraclian dynasty. SaintMaximus the Confessor (580-662) was a symbolic personality in the VII th century.Abundant correspondence as well as the Documents connected to the trial of SaintMaximus the Confessor evoke his actions which aimed to defend the true faith andcombat the monothelitic heresy supported by the imperial court of Constantinople.The object of our study is to evoke the atitude an dactions of Saint Maximus theConfessor to wards the religious policy of Heraclian basileis: Heraclius (610-641),Herakleonas (may-september 641) and his mother, empress Martina and Constans II(641-668).
