Summary/Abstract: The text is meant to give an insight into the contemporary prose of female writers in the light of certain feministic concepts with a special focus on the different developments in Austria and Germany. These have already become apparent – as far as the search for new artistic forms of expression is concerned – after the Second World War and have been experiencing a radicalization since the beginning of the 1970s. Even though the youngest generation of female authors doubts neither the subject matter nor the comprehension of language, they still have a different way of assessing their commitment. Meanwhile the committed feminists of the earlier generation are pursuing a new phenomenon of exclusion – age.
