Summary/Abstract: In the article we describe several transfer phenomena in Italian L1 and L2 texts: first one deals with intra-linguistic transfer of lower variety into higher (academic) variety in texts by Italian native speakers; second one deals with inter-linguistic transfer of L1 into L2. This hypothesis has already been discussed by various scholars, Berruto (1987), Banfi (1993), Solarino (2010), Pugliese a Della Putta (2017) among others. Second part of the article presents findings of the ongoing research of university students. Analysis of the corpus of Italian texts L1 and L2 shows similarity of transfer phenomena related to some types of frequent errors in lexis, morfosyntax and coherence of the text.
