Summary/Abstract: The review article discusses Karolina Kostyra’s book Wiosenna bujność traw. Obrazy przyrody w filmach o dorastaniu [Splendor in the Grass: Nature Images in Coming-of-Age Films] (2019). The author of the paper emphasises the place of the monograph in the contexts of the film genre theory, new humanities’ tendencies, and the academic discourse. The alternative for the last issue is the so-called haptic criticism, term coined by Laura U. Marks and used by the article’s author to describe Kostyra’s style.
