The educational content of mother tongue teaching in small size nongraded primary schools

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the educational content of teaching the Czech language at elementary schools, more specifically the first grade of small size non-graded primary schools. It mainly focuses on the issues related to defining the educational content of the Curriculum Framework for compulsory education. Further, the text presents the author‘s own pedagogical experience from teaching at a small primary school. The author focuses on the specifications of Czech language teaching in the combined 4th and 5th year and gives recommendations for teaching at this type of school.
