Summary/Abstract: Intensive working conditions create negative physiological and psychological effects on employees. On the other hand, due to the fact that employees do excessive work and get used to overwork, it has led to many studies under the name of workaholicism. The purpose of this study is to reveal the mediating role of compliance in the effects of " Working Excessively" and " Working Compulsively" on emotional intelligence. For this purpose, data was collected by using convenience sampling method and by applying face-to-face questionnaire to 250 healthcare workers who voluntarily accepted to answer the questionnaire. Duwas scale, Emotional Intelligence (EI) scale and “Agreeableness” dimension of Five Personality Scale were used for the research questionnaire. Mediation effects were revealed by structural equation modeling with the help of SPSS AMOS program to analyze the data. According to the findings, it was revealed that working excessively and working compulsively do not have a direct effect on emotional intelligence. Moreover, it has been revealed that the harmonious personality trait has a mediating role in the effect of overworking on the evaluation of one's own emotions. Moreover, the mediating role of the harmonious personality trait was found in the effect of overworking on the individual's evaluation of his / her own emotions.
