Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the spread of the flexion varieties -iškė, -iškės; -iškis, -iškiai of the place-names with the suffix -išk-. Alongside the most productive variants with -iškiai spread over the total territory of Lithuania, there have been identified variants with -iškė, -iškės, -iškis on some selected areas. The paper points out the areas of their localisation, or areals, and claims that they emerged though the gender form of the name of the object used in dialects to identify the place of living.
