Summary/Abstract: Interdependency between human life, surviving of human species, of human civilization, and the national and global security on other side, becomes, during XXI st century, a key-aspect to understand the challenges of this century and to approach it appropriately. Our paper is proposing to speak about the environmental security concept as intrinsic dimension of national, regional-European and global security, and to approach critically the level of juridical protection offered on regional and international field regarding preservation of biodiversity, an essential element to insure the respect for human rights, and for the right of future generations to a sound, secure and plenty of resources environment. Biodiversity can be regarded as a dimension of material and cultural patrimony of the mankind, but also, as wealth, as common asset of humanity, transcending states decision, the terrestrial ecosystems needing to be seen as an ensemble, needing a global and responsible look, by starting from the SDGs (sustainable development goals) formulated by Agenda 2030, an essential document adopted by states under UN aegis.
