Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on using management plans with specific protection in spatial planning. Analysed are management plans for territories included into the World Heritage List – UNESCO or plans for protected areas in accordance to Nature and Landscape Protection Act. Management plans include data and information about specific areas which can be crucial for proposals of spatial development of the whole region. The paper deals with the open methodological approach using of data from the management plans of specific territories. Emphasis is placed on the specific features of management plans and the needs of modern spatial planning. Finally, the positives of the effective using of data from management plans in planning processes are summarized.
