Summary/Abstract: The prison phase of the life of Felix Maria Davídek (1921–1988) lasted a long fourteen years (1950–1965). Looking back, however, it was one of his decisive and also perhaps most famous periods. The majority of his contemporaries remember Davídek as a hero and a tireless and fearless educator of himself as well as others. His arrest and imprisonment were described in detail more than twenty years ago by Petr Fiala and Jiří Hanuš. Since then, many valuable documents have become available in the Security Services Archive and the National Archives, namely investigation files and prison files, as well as other archival materials. They do not fundamentally change our view of this stage of Davídek’s life, but rather help to make the image less rigid.
