Contemporary aspects of techniques in playing the kaval

Summary/Abstract: This publication aims to provide a brief overview of some key aspects of the technique of playing the kaval for development and enrichment of its range and means of expression. It is designed for advanced kaval players who have already mastered the traditional techniques and skills of playing the instrument. New fingerings are shown, which are used in combination with a special way of using the air flow. They facilitate expanding the range of the instrument and extracting tones that were previously considered missing in the register of the kaval. Techniques concerning the production of double and triple tones are also discussed.
