Summary/Abstract: Unlike in the surrounding regions, there are few towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina which are steeped in a turbulent and long-term history with multiple archaeological sites from the Roman Empire period and the Medieval period as well. Konjic had been an extremely important traffic node during the Ottoman Empire too and the side station on the road from Constantinopole to the sea. It was also one of the strongest centres of Church of Bosnia till the 15th century which connected and made a bridge between Bosnian and Herzegovinian sanjaks. The main aim of this work is to promote the rich cultural heritage and turn them into recognisable touristic attractions. One of the best ways to do so is to teach the values of the cultural heritage to the students of the Touristic high-school through a subject Touristic geography. The entire teaching process will be implemented through terrain-practical classes. The main aim of implanting such classes is that a student, who becomes the Touristic high-school graduate, is equipped with knowledge enough to be able to work as an average tourist guide, i.e. those students would be able to perform the task of touristic guidance on the terrain independently. The terrain practical classes are inevitable part of the geography teaching process and the most effective form of researching and teaching. The national curricula of Slovenia, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom highlight the importance of the terrain practical classes in geographical education of students and acquiring life skills. The terrain practical classes enable students to connect the abstract terms (acquired in the classroom) with different phenomena and processes in the environment, to check and confirm them in the real condition and to use them in a beneficial way.
