ANALYZING OF MEMORATES THAT CONTINUE AROUND THE MARTYRDOM CONCEPT IN THE CONTEXT OF MOTHER AND SON RELATIONSHIP

Summary/Abstract: One of the most important qualities for the woman who has an important position in Turkish society is undoubtedly motherhood. This qualification provides a respectable position in the society for a woman. This study aims to reveal the moral connection between the mother of martyr and martyr through memorates. The concept of martyrdom that occupies an important place in Turkish culture after the adoption of Islam is a high place offered by religion to the person who sacrificed his life for the defense of the homeland. This belief also facilitates the sacrifice of one's most valuable asset. In this study, where the relationship between the mother of martyr and martyr was examined in the example of terror martyrs after 1980, the motherhood characteristics of women, who had an important place in Turkish society, were tried to be evaluated in the context of being a mother of martyrs. The main material of the assessment is the type of memorat based on an individual experience. In this study, the reflection of the moral bond between a mother of martyr and martyr in Turkish society’s beliefs will be revealed by examining the memorates.
