Summary/Abstract: In his novel The Sirens of Baghdad, Yasmina Khadra tries to explain how cultural misunderstandings and disparities are at the root of hatred and the tensions that characterize the relationship between East and West. Through the painting of the psychological features of the main character and his reactions in the midst of the atrocities of war, he invites the reader to closely follow this path likely to transform an ambitious and peaceful individual, born of an Eastern society, into a terrorist.
