Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to present the innovative tool for professional activation of the unemployed people over 50 “JOBfirma.” The article describes how “JOBfirma” works in practice. “JOBfirma” from Olsztyn is an innovative solution for professionally inactive people over 50. The idea was taken from German experience and consists in establishing a simulation company by the beneficiaries of activation projects. Beneficiaries learn the skills of independent functioning on the labour market and develop their social competences through teamwork. Activation of the unemployed in the “JOBfirma” consists of 4 stages: 1) assessment of the beneficiary’s competence, 2) work in the simulation enterprise, 3) verification of the beneficiary’s employability and qualification in the workplace, and 4) support for the beneficiaries of the enterprise.
