Summary/Abstract: The pandemic has recently raised many questions about how we manage stress and adapt to radical and unexpected changes. It is understandable that certain categories of specialists have been exposed to situations of high stress and among them are professionals in the field of social work, who have ensured the continuity and good development of activities for disadvantaged or vulnerable populations. But who would protect the specialists? It starts from the presumption that it is necessary for them to know how to manage such crises, to manage their emotions on their own, to help others at the same time. In any system of help, starting with the medical and continuing with the social, it is important to meet a basic condition: "safety of the savior". This role is played by supervision in social work and this article presents an overview of the literature on the role of supervision in social services, the possible directions of development of those who become supervisors, the way in which coaching adopted in the process of supervision provides effective tools for managing change and stress.
