Summary/Abstract: The aim of this essay is to present three recently published works that deal with different aspects of contemporary Haitian literature: Yves Chemla’s Littérature haïtienne 1980–2015 (2015), Anthologie de poésie haïtienne contemporaine (2015) edited by James Noël, and Stéphane Martelly’s Les Jeux du dissemblable. Folie, marge et féminin en littérature haïtienne contemporaine (2016). We will focus our analysis on the ways in which these works discuss some distinguishing features of Haitian contemporary fiction and poetry, such as the relationship between femininity and madness and the status of Haitian literature after the 2010 earthquake. In particular, we will show how these three publications provide innovative perspectives and interpretations of a dynamic and varied literary universe as the Haitian one.
