Summary/Abstract: The paper critically reflects on the necessity of reorganizing the school in the modern age. Unfortunately, it has been observed that often reorganization theories are not fully realized in practice. Traditional Curricula completely focus on content and matter, and with their inflexibility and closeness, hinder the progress of the individual. In contrast, the modern curriculum is based on a humanistic concept characterized by openness and flexibility with a particular focus on the student. Guided by these considerations, the first attempts are made to modernize the school with the imperative of lifelong learning and education for what students should be prepared for. The analysis of education in Europe shows great progress in the Finnish curricular approach to education practice. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, such shifts are not so noticeable, but we have examples of curriculum development in Sarajevo Canton that should meet the needs of modern society. It is important to involve all school participants and encourage professionals to constantly improve and use appropriate methods, strategies and forms of work.
