Summary/Abstract: This paper is an attempt to present the formal-syntactic variety of Polish linguistic units such as {około} (about), {bez mała} (almost/nearly), {plus minus} (more or less) classified by M. Grochowski as adnumerative operators. The class was distinguished by Grochowski on the basis of six criteria, discussed one by one in the present paper. As it turns out, not all of the eight analyzed lexemes collocate merely with numerals e.g. {bez mała jednogłośnie, plus minus ekwiwalent}; nor do they always occur before numerals e.g. {dwa lata z górą}. Additionally, the author investigates into the nature of the relation existing between adnumerative operators and numerals. Is it indeed possible to speak of a syntactic relation since no formal indicators for such a relation exist?
