Summary/Abstract: The modern age brings with it various challenges. Traditional teaching is being abandoned, and the modern paradigm is becoming increasingly influential, not at its core assuming a didactic triangle but evolving into a didactic quadrangle. The new element is, in fact, multimedia, which creates a richer educational process and makes it easier for both students and teachers. Students' motivation is growing, making teachers more motivated to their further education and development. Based on the indicators, the current state of use of new technologies in native language teaching in Bosnia and Herzegovina can be assessed as very unfavorable. One reason is the fact that insufficient funding is allocated for modern teaching aids, which is far below the EU average. Teaching aids are procured without a common plan, so there is no strategy at all aimed at developing centers of excellence in children. In order to improve the current state of modern native language classrooms, it is necessary to emphasize the importance of using them in order to move native language teaching in Bosnia and Herzegovina in a positive direction and to have positive and successful results in the future. This work piece is about the classification of teaching aids and aids as well as their application in the teaching of the native language. The theoretical part describes and classifies the aforementioned tools and aids. Definitions of terms according to the relevant literature are presented, the functions of teaching aids and aids are described and their classification into three basic groups. Ultimately, the goal of this work piece is to present the pedagogical, methodical and didactic, knowledge related to the aforementioned tools and aids.
