Summary/Abstract: The author presents data about the role of the Metković port in the maritime commerce of Dahnatia between the two world wars. Basic data on the Neretva River ports of Opuzen and Aleksandrovo are also presented. The paper stresses that there had always been a port in the Neretva Delta. Numerous ports appeared and disappeared, but the commerce of the goods in the Neretva Delta from the sea towards inland and vice-versa remained constant.
