Summary/Abstract: The article studies the legal regulation of the unworthiness of succession. The causes for becoming an unworthy heir are examined in detail, as follows: a) murder or attempt to murder the deceased, his/her spouse or child, as well as any accomplice in said crimes, unless the act has been committed under circumstances excluding its punishability, or it has been amnestied; b) unjust accusation of the deceased of a crime, punishable by imprisonment or graver penalty, unless such unjust accusations are prosecuted upon complaint of the victim and none has been filed; c) persuading or hindering the deceased by force or through deceit to make, amend or revoke appointments by will, or destroying, concealing or correcting the will of the deceased or making use of an untrue will. The second part of the article provides an analysis of the legal consequences of the unworthiness of succession.
