Summary/Abstract: In the context in which the notion of consumer needs clarification because it is a notion with a variable content, a different content in each of the relevant European secondary legislation, the present study aims to answer the questions of whether, and under what conditions, business associates can be considered consumers. The stake is that, if considered a consumer, the associate would become the beneficiary of protective legal rules, which have the role of restoring balance in the existing unequal relations between consumers and professionals, thus restoring the traditional legal equality between the parties of the legal relationship in civil law.
