Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the autobiographical essay Testo Junkie. Sex, Drugs, and Biopolitics in the Pharmacopornographic Era by Paul B. Preciado and so-called ‘self-theory’ that reaches beyond the traditional understanding of autobiography known from Philippe Lejeune’s autobiographical pact. Testo Junkie is interpreted here as an ‘autobiographical body essay’ highlighting the following issues: 1) the body of a subject, 2) conventionality of the gender categories and boundaries between a man and a woman, 3) posthuman inclinations, drawing inspiration from Gilles Deleuze’s and Felix Guattari’s A Thousand Plateaus.
