Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on violence, claiming that it is not action, but silence and inaction that become “murderous”, given that we are forced into a permanent and impossible process of choosing between responsibility for the other and the possibility of responding to a call for help. Still, this position is not final and the author offers certain alternative strategies, such as rebellion, goodness, critique and shame.
