Summary/Abstract: The state of description of the Atlantic languages spoken in Senegal shows that very little work is concerned with the typological comparison of these languages. The objective of our study is to classify the Atlantic languages spoken in Senegal according to the Tense-Aspect-Mood system in its temporal expression function. Using a comparison which takes into account the type of marking and the temporal expression both deictic and aspectual, the Atlantic languages of the Northern branch spoken in Senegal are divided into two types, namely aspectual languages and aspect-tense languages. The majority of the Atlantic languages are aspect-tense. Only Pulaar and Badiaranke are aspect languages while all the others are aspect-tense languages. Each of the languages considered falls into its linguistic type with its specificities.
