Summary/Abstract: In this article we present some general aspects related to health education: essence, functions, principles, purpose, objectives, contents, methodology etc. Health education can be a field of study, independent research or can be a component of other broader fields, which leads to the possibility of overlaps between health education and other aspects of education such as: physical education, physical education, education nutrition, sex education etc. With all these mentions, we consider that health education is a dimension of education that properly addressed, can contribute to solve important problems of society and increasing the quality of life of people.
