Summary/Abstract: In a modern democratic society, the independent organization and development of the external audit activity is essential in order to satisfy the obligation to report the use of public funds. The European Court of Accounts is the European Union's external control institution and contributes to improving the financial management of the Union funds, playing an important role for the citizens of the Union.
