Summary/Abstract: The manner in which a community relates to the past involves different actions such as connectivity, storage, retrieval, transmission, and (re)interpretation. Sharing memories is particularly important in the process that transforms the cultural type of collective memory, where past meaningsand the way they shape tradition are prominent features. When consistent memory practices focus on texts, images, and rituals they result in the establishment and consolidation of a pattern that becomes relevant for the identity of that community.
