THE IMPACT OF THE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT ON THE YOUTH’S ACADEMIC PURSUIT

Summary/Abstract: ducation has played a key part in the contemporary society after the fall of the communist regime in 1989. More and more frequently people have shown great interest in the attempt to quench their thirst for knowledge and success. Most of them have chosen to continue studying, to start a family and opt for a high-quality job.In this paper we have tried to emphasize the fact that the parents’ involvement in the education of the youth aged 18 - 25 has an influence on their academic pursuit. When parents are responsibly committed to their children’s education the latter tend to consider the educational process more seriously and thus obtain better results. The findings resulting of the quantitative research have confirmed that the more the parents get involved in their relationship with the child and the school, the better their results and their schoolwork efficiency will be.Considering that school is an element which the human personality development crucially depends on, it is also true that a well-balanced education should take into account the part played by family.
