Summary/Abstract: Decision-making is part of household life. The article deals with decisions about unpaid and paid work in the conditions of Slovak households. We have combined unpaid work activities into three separate areas that have common features. The results that we present in the paper showed that there are differences in the decision-making of unpaid work as well as in comparison with paid work. The results of the survey showed that Slovak households attach more weight to decision-making when it comes to decisions that are more financially, time and information-intensive. When processing the results of the primary survey, we used data from more than 700 employees, who were part of more than 500 households.
