Summary/Abstract: The article researches the etymologies of one oikonym and one microtoponym used several times in Northern Bavaria. Traditionally they were said to have Slavic etymologies, but the 2015 PhD thesis by J. Andraschke (publ. 2016) claimed them to have German(ic) etymologies. The comparison of the different etymologies shows clearly that the Slavic ones are to be preferred over the decidedly weaker German(ic) ones. The names go back to CSlav. *Čьrnidel(ьnik)ъ and *Dolьnica respectively.
