Summary/Abstract: The world is going through a time of extraordinarily rapid change, marked by growing uncertainty in all domains of life, growing military conflicts in various regions, and the spread of various anthropocenic challenges. The over-alignment of globalization is observed, with the emergence of various heterogeneous tendencies, promoted by military and economic rivals of major geopolitical powers, expanding trade wars, and changes in relations between states caused by a pandemic. In this confusion of change, a wave of civilizational research is emerging that responds in its own way to the processes of globalizational heterogeneity and geopolitical shifts. The role of civilizational identity and civilizational imagination is becoming increasingly important. The article explores various aspects of the concept of civilization and civilizational imagination and argues that in the current geopolitics and relations between states, the importance of the concept of civilization and civilizational imagination is becoming more and more entrenched in a multicenter and multipolar worldview.
