Summary/Abstract: For every national minority cultivating traditions and customs is an important factorof identity. The same applies to the Lusatian minority, for which customs are expressionsunifying and deepening their national awareness as well as playing an important part intheir way of life. Among the Lusatian customs, a special place is occupied by traditionsrelated to Easter. These include decorating Easter eggs, Easter singing, Holy Thursdaypresents for children, fetching Easter water, rolling Easter eggs, Easter Fire or the EasterRiders on Easter Sunday.
