Summary/Abstract: The article views the history of one of the most common diseases amongst the army in military and naval conflicts from ancient times till the end of 19th century, namely dysentery and other acute infectious diarrhea diseases. This demonstrates indirectly the condition of the military medicine and hygiene during this period, from the perspective of the one of the most common diseases accompanying wars.
