Summary/Abstract: In my study, I provide guidelines for recognizing fake news-linking posts that pop up in users’ Facebook feeds. To do this, I briefly outline the history of fake news, starting from the pre-mass media era through the line of old media and new media to social media, and then clarify concepts important to the dissertation. Next, I describe the groupings of fake news in the literature. After selecting, in my opinion, the most practical (six-element) grouping, I will describe the main features of the related Facebook posts: the visual and textual display, as well as the characteristic of the web page they are pointing to. At the end of the dissertation, I show eclectic examples for each of the six groups, then, as a summary, I propose, which educational possibilities can be found to help the senior generations’ fight against fake news.
