Summary/Abstract: Poland's population structure by sex and age in the period between the two World Wars (based on censuses of 1921 and 1931) has been discussed in the article. Rate of feminization in total and by age groups as well as median age were some of the measures used in the analysis. The diversity of factor distributions in urban and rural areas as well as in voivodships and country districts were stressed. Furthermore, the demographic old age coefficient, indices of people demographic burden (with children and old people) as well as the coefficient of demographic youth were used. Discovered changes of the coefficients in the period 1921–1931 were evidence of gradual ageing of the Second Polish Republic's society.
