Summary/Abstract: This article examines the effectiveness of the perceived employment impact within the internship program for business students. The aim is to improve internship programs in order to meet all the stakeholder expectations: students, universities and companies. An online qualitative and quantitative survey was developed in order to investigate students’ perception regarding the employment impact of internship programs. In accordance with the literature evidence and data given by the European context and research trends, there were also developed some valuable improvement measures for the collaboration between universities and companies in order to design suitable programs on the transition to professional work.
