Summary/Abstract: In the Košice Archdiocese, there were many zealous personalities among priests, monks, bishops, but also from the ranks of lay believers. Three members of the Dobránský family, whose most important representatives lived in the territory of Šariš between 1831 and 1961, must certainly be included among these religious personalities. The first of them was Juraj Dobránsky (1831 – 1912), who was a miller and mayor, and at the same time an ardent spreader of the prayer of the Holy Rosary as well as a restorer of the Rosary Brotherhood and Catholic communities in Šariš. One of his sons, John, also became a priest. Msgr Ján Dobránsky (1869 – 1950) was the dean and pastor of Solivar. He was very active in pastoral work and was also involved in political life and active in literature. For his work, he was appointed as a papal chamberlain by Pius XI. Msgr Jozef Dobránsky (1887 – 1961) was the nephew of Ján Dobránský. He was a student of the Viennese Pázmanea and his zeal was evident in his pastoral work. He worked as a dean and pastor in the parish of Svinia. He held several important positions in the Sabinov deanery and in the diocese. For his work, he was appointed as a papal chamberlain by Pius XII.
