Summary/Abstract: The paper considers the service of priesthood in Egypt. The first and main part of the paper is dedicated to general references concerning priesthood and that way of life, pertaining to grade denominations, the hierarchy of Egyptian priests and priestesses. The paper examines the priesthood of Faro, an incarnated deity and supreme magistrate. The conclusion contains short observations on the Egyptian temple as a liturgical place and on the basics of Egyptian worship.
