Summary/Abstract: In our study we concluded that nowadays, 8 years after giving up the Reiki initiation with her master, the young woman follows a psychiatric treatment being diagnosed with schizophrenia, lives with her parents, has not completed the Faculty of Law, or the Faculty of Psychology, which she later started and has no place of work. Unfortunately, there is no center in Romania where victims of religious/ spiritual movements or their families can ask for support and counseling, and that is why, we can only suspect that the number of people affected by dubious medical alternatives is certainly higher. We can conclude that Reiki, as it is practiced in Romania and addiction to the initiating master can psychologically affect emotionally fragile and unstable people, creating trauma that is hard to heal.
