Summary/Abstract: Synchronic analysis represents the exegesis of the biblical text as a whole, without a specific interest in its process of composition and transmission, an approach that has begun to emerge as an hermeneutical alternative worthy of note, towards the end of the nineteenth century AD. Although it was the traditional approach within Judaism and Christianity until the diachronic exegesis (which is the historical-critical method) appeared, the term “Synchronic Exegesis” is now understood as the “current impact of the text, leaving a second-hand interpretation uninterested in his historical reality”. Depending on their interest and orientation, synchronic approaches may concern either the text itself (e.g. Canonical Exegesis, Semiotic or Structural Exegesis, “New Literary Criticism”) or the reader (e.g. Feminist Exegesis, Abyssal Psychological Approach, Reception History, Interpretation on the background Theology of Liberation etc.). For the Orthodox biblical theology, the exegetical methods in the first category, namely those oriented towards the “world of text”, are particularly relevant. The motivation for this type of approach resulted from dissatisfaction with the “excavating” way of historicalcritical approach to the detriment of the literary aspect, the art of biblical narrative
