ON THE ANNIVERSARY – THE PRIEST IOAN IOANICESCU REACHING THE HONOURABLE AGE OF 80 YEARS OLD

Summary/Abstract: As an appreciation for the father’s entire mission, for his household and scientific activity that benefitted the Romanian Orthodox Church, on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Obedeanu church, in a festive setting, I.P.S. Metropolitan of Oltenia Irineu Popa awarded him the highest distinction of the Metropolitanate of Oltenia, namely, the Order "Saint Nicodemus of Tismana", class I. The next day, on Sunday, September 29, after the Holy Mass, officiated by a council of priests from Craiova, from the Archdiocese of Râmnicu and the Archdiocese of Argeș and Muscel, a Te Deum took place for the day dedicated to the elderly, under the protection of the Shroud of the Mother of God, a warm homage was paid to the one who served 27 years as a parish priest at the Obedeanu church - pr. Ioan Ioanicescu, at the age of 80.
